Volleyball has been a part of my life for an extremely long time. I began playing because it was a fun activity that my mom threw me into, however, as a varsity athlete I had to start maturing before high school and the sport became more than “just fun”. I consider volleyball as an outlet where I can forget anything in my personal life and take out all my frustrations while giving my everything to the team. I love the game but I didn’t really appreciate or understand the intensity until it was gone, personally, it was an injury that pressed a mental and physical setback. During the time out, I asked myself “Who am I without volleyball?” My life revolved around this sport without it I didn’t know, until I experienced life without the expectations from coaches. The free time caused me to dive deeper into my why’s, my how’s, and drive. I wanted to continue to be a part of something bigger than myself, a team. I’ve learned so much, intention, focus, communication, accountability, selflessness, growth, and progress in skill over wins and loses while being competitive. On the court, I’m very hard working and always putting 110% in, off I am constantly supporting and cheering. I’m very passionate and driven about volleyball, I plan to further my volleyball career where I can achieve the highest education. Most importantly I want to share the love I have for the sport with others.
