After a late start to volleyball at the beginning of high school, I have worked extremely hard to get to my current level. I put in a lot of effort on and off the court, whether it be putting in maximum effort during drills or extra reps at the gym. I am good at staying positive and being encouraging to my teammates no matter if I am playing or not. I constantly go to my coaches and ask what I can do to improve as a player, even if it means I have to stay after practice. I am looking to play at the collegiate level so I can continue to improve as a player, and compete at a higher intensity. I can play any position in the front row and I am flexible with being moved around to wherever my coaches see fit. Even through a few difficult seasons, I have stayed resilient in improving and not letting the bad habits from previous teams carry over into my current seasons. Despite my height, I have worked on plyometrics to increase my vertical, as well as putting in many hours of weightlifting at the gym so that I can remain a strong opponent on the net. My school team won our conference championships and a few public school tournaments despite being a private school, thanks to our coach's vigorous training throughout the summer and into the fall season. I am not scared of putting in the work to make a difference in my playing ability and I actively try to make a change when coaches correct me without making a fuss. I have done mental training through an app called Champions Mind to work on my mental toughness. I also stay on top of my eating habits and what kinds of foods I should be eating at tournaments, with my sister being a grad student majoring in sports nutrition.
