My name is Harper Reese. I am a Libero/DS for the class of 2025. I have been playing volleyball for seven years and love it even more every year I play. As soon as I step on the court everything going on in my life; every distraction disappears and my head goes straight to the game. My goal as an athlete is to better myself and my team. I am a very coachable player, and I love working with coaches about things I need to improve on or how I can better support my team. I played soccer for 7 years before I found volleyball. When I played soccer it never felt like something I could see myself playing in high school or college. Quitting soccer was one of the best decisions I ever made for myself. I started playing volleyball in 5th grade for SCYA, South County Youth Association. I continued to play for them until 8th grade, and then I tried out for my high school team and made it. That year was an interesting year for me, post Covid. I was having issues with my anxiety and ADHD. My academics are very important to me and I strive to work to my best potential. I like to challenge myself in school and take the classes that I know will challenge me but not make me struggle. I persevere and push through those mental blocks, I use my accommodations and other resources to support my success in school.
