Personal Statement

My name is Marlee Dzergoski, I am 17 years old, and I am a Senior at Manchester Valley High School in Manchester, Maryland.  My freshman and sophomore year I played on JV Volleyball and  played as a middle hitter.  My JV team had very sucessful seasons both years.  In the fall of my junior year of high school, I made the varsity team and played as the starting opposite hitter. I have also learned how to play outside, to expand my options of where I know how to play.   We won our division's championship.   After the high school season, I was selected to be on the Baltimore Elite 17U National team. That was an amazing experience.  We traveled to Colorado, DC and Philly.  My club team was great, and all the girls became very close and we were a competitive team at all of our tournaments.

I started going to volleyball clinics when I was in 7th grade and greatly enjoyed playing. I attended two college camps and a few others as well during the summer before my senior year.  I learned a lot and the camps increased my love for the game. I have not only improved as a player, but as a person as well. Volleyball has taught me to appreciate my teammates and that they are the people that you can rely on in tough situations. I've learned that its important to learn from your mistakes because it will help you in the long run. Most importantly I've learned that you get out what you put in, if you put in the work and effort you will see results and improve.

I have a goal to graduate high school with at least a 3.75 GPA and plan on continuing my volleyball career at the collegiate level.
