Personal Statement

I want to start off by saying that I started late in my volleyball career because I never had the option to play sports back home in New Jersey.  The only times I have seen volleyball is on television. Sports were like a locked door I could not open until I did a summer immersion at Cushing Academy in Massachusets. Like many, I had a rocky start,  but I did not give up because I started to fall in love with the sport, Volleyball. I decided my sophomore year that I wanted to play in college because I had such a great time with my JV volleyball team that year and will be moving up to Varsity Volleyball the next year. Even though I decided late that I want to play volleyball in college I still believe that I can do it. For example, the summer going into my junior year I will be doing a 2-week program in order to enhance my skills.  My collegiate goals are to obtain my doctorate is some sort of genetic study along with balancing playing volleyball. I know that I will be able to balance sports and academics because I already do so now in boarding school, even as a sophomore I have plenty of responsibilities.
