Hello coaches and thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Alyssa Viola I play libero/OH. A little about me beyond the court... in this coming school year I will be a freshman at South Shore Tech. My reason for choosing a trade school was for a more hands-on education but also because I will be out of high school with a stable career. Coming from a lower middle-class family with 4 very athletic kids and a single mom it is difficult to fulfill all of our athletic dreams. That is why I chose NCSA, so I could potentially receive scholarships to help with college tuition. I would love to be a vet tech because working with animals is my passion but it also requires expensive schooling. Being able to have a good education and play volleyball for as long as possible is my dream and I will work to achieve that.
I am 14yrs old with a big passion for volleyball. My goal is to make varsity my freshman year. I am determined and hard working not only athletically but academically. I'm big on education and learning and when considering what high school I wanted to attend I knew I wanted a hands-on learning experience. Thus me picking a trade school. I am very coachable and have proven myself countless times playing 2 levels above my age level for the club 2 years in a row. I haven't played volleyball for a long time but I have grown to figure out that volleyball is a big passion of mine. I'm confident in my abilities on and off the court. I like to meet new people and I am a very social person. I also take feedback well as I want to be the best I can be and be everything a college coach might be looking for in a potential candidate for their college team.
When thinking about what sets me apart from other candidates, I have put myself in a coach's shoes. I would seek an athlete that is not only confident but coachable and can make adjustments to their playing. I would want someone that can collaborate with their teammates and brings good spirit to the team. An athlete that can own up to mistakes and be quick on their feet is important. While considering these characteristics of a good athlete I can confidently say I embody these traits and think I could be a strong college athlete.
I understand the importance of inhabiting these traits which is why I continue to work to be a hard-working, risk-taking, and persistent athlete and person on and off the court. I will continue to attend many camps and extra training sessions to exceed my athletic and mental abilities.
Self-assured, I believe I have what it takes to be an amazing college athlete and student. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile!
(As of right now my season has not yet started and my club games were not recorded but the film will be updated soon 😊)
