Many people say that volleyball is “just a game,” but for me, it's much more than that. Volleyball is what I look forward to after a long day, and something that brings me joy and a sense of passion. I’ve been playing volleyball for five years, and my love for the sport still grows every time I play. My goal when playing is to always play with intention and determination but also to have fun doing it. I also recognize that there is always room to improve and get better! I do private lessons weekly with coaches at my club, and these give me a chance to focus on specific skills and techniques that I need to build on. I also go to the gym at least twice a week, and I work on strength, power, and movement. I am always willing to put in the extra work to get where I need to be, whether it's for my high school team, club team, or eventually the collegiate level.
Along with my skills, my mindset grows each day that I’m on the court. No matter the circumstance, I always bring energy to my team and support my teammates. Although volleyball is an important part of my life, school is one of my top priorities. I love to challenge myself academically, and I’m still exploring what I want to study in college!
