My name is Jamila Oriakhi, I am a Jr. at Swampscott High School. My goal is to play competitive college volleyball while earning a college degree. I am planning to major in Engineering or Business. I have been working hard to fulfill my goal of playing volleyball in college. I won this year's Varsity MVP, NEC All Star, Salem News All Star, Daily items News All star and Honor roll student.
I currently play club volleyball with MGA. I am a setter for the club and my high school. Being part of a team makes me work harder, motivated, accountable, dedication, determination and play the game with integrity. My love for volleyball is undeniable and through hard work I have found a successful balance between social life, sports, volunteering and academics.
My brother plays college football at Bentley University and told me the amount of hard work and sacrifice it takes to be a successful college athlete and I am willing to put all of my strength, effort and time to achieve that dream. I’m coachable and listen attentively to my coaches and teammates for any feedback.
I believe with hard work, dedication and my passion for the sport I will be able to successfully compete at the next level. I’m also a Track and Field athlete and finished 5th in the 2021 MIAA D2 Championships game in shot put.
