As an active volleyball player since the 5th grade, volleyball has always been a wonderful escape for me to enjoy the sport and continually explore the team aspect of every situation in life. Being raised in a small town has some advantages; the first and most important is development at a high level participation in volleyball (i.e. few number of players make my participation a crucial part of every day practice and games). This sport has taught me how to balance academics and sports and value the team aspect of winning and losing and the psychological affects on the team depending on an outcome of a game and/or season. Overall, I place academics over sports in my mind, however, the physical outlet of playing this sport on a daily basis helps me to focus on priorities and my physical health. Always loved the game. God bless....
