Hello, my name is Olivia Lamb and I have been playing volleyball since the seventh grade. At the time, I didn't really know what sports I would like or even be good at, but my parents blessed me with the gift of height. As my love for volleyball grew, I also grew. My coaches always tell me that I am very coachable and put in 100% no matter the position that I am playing. My love for volleyball comes from my passion to improve my skills and to be a part of a team. I am not only a good role model to others and a strong leader, but I know when to follow others as well. Not every time is the right time to be a leader.
Throughout my volleyball seasons, I have managed to balance school, sports, and a part time job. I have a solid GPA of 3.9 and have taken three AP classes. Next year, I plan to be dual enrolled at GRCC for my senior year. Even though it has not been easy to manage all of these things, I also have an excellent support system. My family has stuck by me even when times were tough. They come to all my games even in my early years of playing volleyball when there were times I sat on the bench most of the game. I could have chosen the easy road to give up or quit something that I loved, but I didn't. At that time, I was determined to improve my skills and be a better volleyball player through countless hours of practice at home with a volleyball hitting it off the roof of our home. Even though volleyball is my passion, I also participate in basketball and track in the off season.
My aspiration for volleyball in colleges comes from my love for volleyball and the determination that I have to improve myself. I strive to be an excellent blocker and hitter. I have mainly played in the front row, but am willing to excel at any position I am placed in. My goal is to be on a volleyball team throughout colleges. I believe that I will make a good candidate for your team because I am moldable, strive to be better, flexible, hardworking, and have great time management skills.
