Furthering my education into becoming a Physical Therapist/Assistant is my top priority when graduating high school. Having a chance to become a student athlete in college would be an exciting experience! My current high school position is a middle blocker along with middle back experience (also a starter). During club seasons I have started as a left/outside hitter also middle blocker. Both on and off the court I’m a very determined, humorous, and encouraging person. Practice can get tough on both me and my teammates but no matter what I cheer on everyone, give out high fives, and give tips to ensure everyone is putting forth their best efforts!
What makes me a good candidate? I would say my determination is the leading factor. I push myself to become better during every practice and game. Post season I maintain and grow my skills with doing at home drills and workouts to ensure I remain at the level I left at. Another would be my attitude in my earlier years of volleyball it was not the best. Now growing from where I was at it has gotten so much better over the years of meeting new players! I now make it a goal to help others that are struggling to stay positive as it will increase their confidence like it did mine. My overall personality is another reason. I tend to make a couple jokes here and there to get a positive energy going both during practice and to hype up the team before a game. I do believe that each team needs that person to lift the mood after a bad practice or a hard loss. For my team I am that person along with a few others.
So far throughout my high school career I have maintained a steady 3.6 GPA while attending both A and B honor rolls. In order to be included with the honor rolls students must have zero missing work and passing every class with anything above a C. Academic wise I would consider myself as an A student. I also take part in elective classes such as choir, band, and jazz band. Our jazz band is a selective group that meets before school two days every week at 7:00am. This group is considered to be among the elite groups in my school as well!
