Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Brynn Smith and I live in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.  I am a student athlete at Totino-Grace High School in Fridley, Minnesota, class of 2021.

As a volleyball player, I am very coachable, an effective communicator, a leader on the floor, and have a high volleyball I.Q.  Being a good teammate and having a team-first mindset are very important to me.  I am always trying to better myself and my teammates, and I respond to feedback in a very positive way.

I am looking to pursue volleyball in college because this sport gives me so much joy.  I love creating friendships, memories, and playing the game I love.  I am looking for a program that will challenge me to be a better player and teammate each and every day.  Academics are also very important to me and I am looking for a place that will give me a solid foundation for the rest of my life.  This process has posed many challenges, but has been so fun and I am so excited to see where the next chapter of my life will take me!

Coaches Quotes:

Del Vancura, MN Select 15-2

“Brynn’s work ethic is top notch and I love her intensity.”

Anthony Elizondo, USAV A2

“Brynn is a great competitor and gives everything she has on each play.  I loved her ability to adapt to new scenarios and connect with players throughout the week.  Her ability to control the volleyball in serve receive and defense is there.”

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
