From an early age, my passion for volleyball was evident, from playing "couch volleyball" with my Dad, to continually annoying my parents from setting the ball against the wall. As I grow older, my passion for volleyball has increased, and my aspirations have gotten much higher. It has been my dream to play collegiate volleyball at a high level.
In 8th grade, my high school team took 3rd place in the Minnesota Class A State Tournament. As the setter running a 5-1 offense, I had to learn how to be a good leader despite being the youngest player on the team. It also taught me how to overcome adversity, because no one thought our team could make it to the State Tournament, after losing the year before. This past year, our team did not make it to the state tournament, but those experiences also helped shape me in a different way. I grew as a player and teammate, despite not experiencing the success we had hoped for.
My love for volleyball is only equaled by my drive to succeed academically as well. Despite having three practices a week and an 80+ game schedule for club volleyball, I excel in the classroom and view academics to be very important for my future. My leadership on the court and in the classroom, combined with my passion for volleyball and my drive to be better, sets me apart from other players.
