Personal Statement

Updated: Sophomore - 2019 season personal statement coming soon!

2018 Personal Statement: As a freshman starter on our varsity volleyball team was most definitely a goal of mine as I began my high school volleyball career. Our team at Mayer Lutheran High School ended the season with a dream come true accomplishment of attending the MN State High School Volleyball Tournament placing as Class A Consolation Champs - 5th place. While being on the MLHS volleyball team alone pushed me immediately to build my individual skills but broaden my perspective and skill set to work hard with my teammates. The excitement and agony of defeat through my freshman season has brought me to the realization that I most definitely want to play volleyball in college.

I realized that by working hard as an individual and along side my teammates in the off season is just as valuable as when we are focused during our season. While volleyball is a passion and a priority for me, achieving high standards with my academics is important. I have been in the past, as well as continue to maintain and hope to always be a high achieving academic student. With both of my academic and athletic accomplishments I know what it takes to be organized, manage my time and to stay focused on my goals especially as a two-sport athlete along with playing club volleyball. While I take my academic and athletics seriously, I most definitely like to have fun with my family and friends. Both of which have been very supportive and encouraging to me along the way. At this time, I am unsure what I want to study in college so I open to exploring all areas. As I think of my future volleyball career in college, it is my goal to be able to play and be on the competition court my freshman year. This could be as a starter or however I could best be an asset to my team.
