My name is Rachel Wieber. I am a six rotation, 5'11 versatile outside hitter/Libero. I graduate in the class of 2021 and go to Northfield High school. Volleyball is my passion. I was a multi-sport athlete and competed as a gymnast, a soccer player and a tennis player but fell in love with volleyball in middle school. I have had the opportunity to play multiple positions in my volleyball career including defensive specialist, libero, middle hitter, and outside hitter. I now play outside hitter, six rotations and not only love hitting but thrive on defense as well. I am tenacious on the court and always play until the whistle is blown. I want to play college volleyball because competing at the highest level achievable is one of my goals. I am a competitive player and am always ready to get feedback on my play so I can improve my skills. Being a versatile player has many advantages because by playing more positions, I get to understand the game better. By learning and playing almost every position on the court, I have better court awareness and the ability to know what each of my teammates is going through, and how I can help them. Volleyball is a sport full of teamwork and collaboration and I strive to encourage and support my teammates on and off the court. Although competing in college is one of my top goals, I work hard to push myself in academics as well.
