I started to play volleyball at the age of 12 and I was hooked. I love volleyball a little more every time I step foot onto the court. I come alive while I am playing and when I am cheering from the sidelines.
I grew up in a small town with limited sport options and had to choose between cross country or volleyball as a fall sport. Choosing volleyball has been the best decision I have ever made in my life because I truly love the sport. I have learned so much from my past teams and camp experiences and continue to better my skills each season. My academic goals for High School and College are very important to me as well. I am still learning what areas of study interest me most and at this time my top interests include psychology and social work. This summer, I am also preparing to take the ACT in Fall 2020.
There are many things I have learned from playing volleyball which have helped make me the person I am today on and off the court. Leadership, confidence and a strong work ethic are a few. I also have learned how to listen to my coaches, correct mistakes and improve on my technique. Volleyball has taught me that winning is great, but that you can’t win all the time. Being able to move on from a bad game or bad practice or bad day is key. Having a positive attitude and keeping a smile on your face is also important. I enjoy the many new friendships I have made with teammates over the past school and club seasons.NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the exclusive athletic recruiting network that educates, assists, and connects, families, coaches and companies so they can save time and money, get ahead and give back.
