My collegiate goal is to be a starting setter. I can achieve this goal by pushing my limits, hard work, practice, and criticism. By doing all of these things, these goals can keep getting closer to becoming real. By pushing my limits, hard work, and practice, my skills can improve and be better than before. By accepting criticism and feedback, that can allow me to get out of my comfort zone and try new things I wouldn't normally try. Criticism and feedback would push me harder and it wouldn't only make me a better player, it would make me a better person as well.
I have played multiple sports in my life, but something about volleyball stuck with me. I have peppered with my cousin who played D2 volleyball in college and my other cousin who was a high school starter. I started playing with them at a young age. I still play with them to this day. They push me and never take it easy on me which is how I want to train to become a better athlete.
I played softball for six years and absolutely loved it. I have also been playing volleyball for about five years now. I was playing volleyball and softball at the same time when I realized softball wasn't my passion. I didn't notice this until about a year ago. Softball didn't bring me the same excitement that volleyball has always brought me. Volleyball was and still is my passion. I want it to be one of the main focuses and I want to keep working at it. I want to get better however I can by practicing even the smallest drills or ways possible.
Outside of volleyball I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. After the volleyball season ends I go up to my cabin each year where my family and I spend all of our summers. I have gotten close with my cousins especially since there are a total of nine cabins across our family's property. I enjoy being out on the lake and being outside in general during the summer. I of course incorporate volleyball in those summer months but I also make time for those around me and make sure I spend time with the important people in my life.
Another important part of my life is academics. I think it is very crucial for my future that I maintain a high GPA and good grades that are going to help me get into a great college. I am still undecided of what I would like to pursue in college. I'm trying to figure it out and keep my options open. As for college, I want to play volleyball at a pretty competitive level. I want to find a great college that is fitting for me and one that makes me a better player on and off the volleyball court.
