I love playing volleyball and am enthusiastic about the opportunity to play at the collegiate level. l have participated in many sports, playing soccer and tennis throughout my life, but volleyball became my passion once I began playing in 7th grade. As a setter, I understand that leadership, court-smarts, communication, and attitude contribute just as much to the team as skills. During games, I stay focused and positive. In practice, I am constantly working hard to make myself and my teammates better while mastering skills. Although I am and have been the varsity starting setter, my high school coach likes to call me a “utility player” because I have range of skills and can play anywhere on the court. I believe I could fit in well on any team both on and off the court.
I wish to compete at a school with rigorous academics. I have always had high expectations for myself in school as well as on the court. I am a hardworking student who has always been in honors courses and by graduation will have taken 8 AP courses as well as 4 college level courses. I am most interested in science and math, so I plan to study biology with hopes to work in the medical field someday. I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for me both academically and athletically!
