Hello, My name is Annalyse Patterson. I'm 17 years old and have an extreme aspiration to play college volleyball. I've always wanted to go to a college with a great psychology program and an even better volleyball team. I started playing volleyball at a young age for fun and began to realize that it was something I wanted to continue to do when I got older. As I practiced and tried out for the team, I was amazed at how so many people could work together as one unit and could become more than just a "sports team." They could become a family. I love volleyball because it is a sport that brings people together. If your team does not work with each other, they will not succeed. What I think makes me a good candidate for any volleyball team is my persistence, determination, and overall love for this sport. The thing that makes me stand out from the rest of the recruits is that even if the team I play for loses I have an optimistic viewpoint. If losing is what it takes to find out what is wrong and what the team needs to work on, then that is what it takes. I recently had to sit out of a few games because of an injured shoulder, but during that time I found a lot of insight into what it takes to make a team. I learned things about my fellow teammates that I never really noticed before. I am fully recovered now and can play better than I could before because I know how to compensate for my teammate's weaknesses and have their back. This is what I think makes me a good candidate for any volleyball team. Thank you.
