Making my high school varsity volleyball team as a freshman and sophomore was very rewarding. Not only is it a personal highlight in my volleyball career, but it has enabled me to continue to advance as a player. I finished my freshman year making the St. Louis Suburban All-Conference Honorable Mention team and my sophomore year making the St. Louis Suburban All-Conference 2nd team. The greatest celebration in my high school career, however, is my part in leading my team to a District Championship win, the first in Rockwood Summit volleyball history!
During club seasons I have been able to face obstacles and re-set personal and team goals. An example of overcoming adversity was when my club team of 2018 did not earn a bid to the Nike USA Volleyball Nationals. At the time it felt like a setback, but then we ended up with a first place Gold finish at the Asics Volleyball Nationals. Because of that experience, I learned the power of commitment, the value of a positive mindset, and most of all, the importance of teamwork. We continued on as a team and earned our bid to USAV Girls Jr Nationals in 2019 where we finished first in the bronze bracket of the American Division!
When not on the volleyball court, you will often find me riding horses at the horse farm, spending time with friends, or volunteering at my church. My family not only means the world to me, but they are always there to support me in my growth as a player. While I am focused on bringing my best to club and school volleyball, I understand the importance of maintaining balance in all areas of my life. I am a strong student with a variety of interests. I am involved in Art Club and am a member of Student Council, Renaissance Club, and Link Crew at Rockwood Summit. I consider myself a kind and compassionate person.
I am confident that I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but also the character and work ethic to make a positive addition to any program. I am coachable, a good teammate on and off the court, and I am always eager to learn and improve. I am committed to pushing myself, both mentally and physically, and am looking forward to being part of a program that challenges me to do just that.
