Hello prospective new head coach. My name is Amelia Flynn and I am a 6'0 Sophomore, Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist in St. Louis, MO and will be graduating in 2018. I have lived here in St. Louis my entire life with my parents (Keith and Kara), my brothers Austin (21 - LSU) and Addison (16) and my sister Alayna (19). Growing up I played every sport imaginable but following my big sister's footsteps came to love volleyball the most. I still swim but do that more for fun and the social aspect of sports. That does not mean I am not competitive though, I still love to win.
I am starting to think about where I might like to go to college and am looking for a school that offers several undergraduate degrees in healthcare. I am undecided as to a specific major at this time but am very interested in healthcare, science, and the medical fields. In addition, one of my objectives in selecting a school is to explore an area of the country outside of the immediate area that I have been living in my whole life. I want to experience new places and new faces. I guess it runs in the family because my oldest brother is going to LSU, and my older sister originally went to Davis & Elkins in West Virginia to play volleyball. This probably also comes from my love of travel.
I am currently playing club for High Performance out of St. Louis and I attend Timberland High School in Wentzville, MO I have a strong desire to continue to play volleyball after high school and am committed to doing everything in my control to do so. I have what my dad refers to as the "Three D's" to success; Desire, Dedication, and Determination and know I can help any team I play for. I consider myself a dedicated student as well as I currently am carrying a 4.0 GPA and rank 20th out of 419 in my class. I am simply looking for the opportunity for a quality education while continuing to play a sport I love.
