I have been playing volleyball for six years now, and one thing I have learned is that the court is a place for confidence and leadership to be born and to flourish. I have become a much stronger, more reliable player since my first time stepping on that court, and I can be a valuable follower as well. I respond well to well-based command and I am willing to grow my weaknesses in order to become a stronger player overall. While I may not be the tallest player out there, I am willing to compensate and work to overcome this in other ways. I have really felt comfortable playing this sport, and I am interested to know where that spark will take me. I know how to adapt and can shift gears if the occasion calls for it
The team I have played for these past six years is a small one, but through them I have grown as a player, leader, follower, and listener. I have been noticed and complimented by players, coaches, referees, and parents and I have tried to encourage my teammates and keep their spirits up no matter what kind of season we are in the midst of.
I am looking for a college that will suit my academic goals as well as my athletic ones. Currently, I am interested in Psychology, History, Sociology, and Humanities, and am looking for a way to pursue those that will lead to a successful career and a healthy lifestyle.
While I have been the leading hitter and server for my team this past year, a severe shoulder injury has prohibited me from doing my best in those areas. So for this year, my senior year and the last on this team that I have been with for 5 years, the coach has suggested I play libero, and that has been going well so far.
