Volleyball has provided me friendships, opened up opportunities, and also presented barriers that tested my strength. The State Volleyball Tournament is a true double-elimination tournament. Both my sophomore and junior years we played back-to-back championship matches, finishing second both times. These losses have provided me with renewed dedication to return to the state tournament and compete for the first place title. Whether it’s a win or loss, I am passionate about the teamwork, mental strength, and development gained from these experiences.
Working out has become a huge passion of mine during the spring and summer months. Over the last few years, I have seen both physical and mental changes as I incorporated working out into my daily routine. I discipline myself to continue working hard through the summer in order to excel when the season starts. With the structure of being part of a team, honors high school student, and the schedule I set for myself, I have learned to prioritize tasks and manage my time. I have the confidence within myself to adapt to a new environment and pursue both my personal and the team’s goals.
