I have been playing volleyball since I was in 4th grade on a school or club team and have improved on team skills, individual skills and have started coaching as a volunteer at the YMCA in the sport of volleyball. I love learning and teaching what I learn to the younger girls I coach. I want to continue to be challenged and get better every single day. I have been a starter and I have sat the bench but no matter where I was at, during that volleyball game I was encouraging my team and getting excited when good things were happening on the court. We are a team, we compete as a team and we win or lose as a team. During every practice I am working hard and encouraging others, mistakes or not. The last few years I have played intramural on adult teams as a libero and setter and have been challenged but I came out of it a better player after each game. I have grown to love this sport at an early age and hope to continue after graduation with coaching volleyball while teaching at the Elementary level. I want to be a mentor and bring my experience teaching the volleyball players how to be a team player, how to play the sport and their positions and how to win and lose with grace.
