Diana Reed '18 Recruiting Profile

Throughout my high school career I have been involved in basketball and volleyball.  During this time I have worked hard to better myself not only in my position as an outside hitter, but also in other positions.  I pride myself on being versatile, especially with my defensive abilities.  When a ball comes my way I am able to adapt to the situation and make the best possible play.  My teammates can always count on me wherever I am at on the court.

It is because of this versatility I am confident in my skills as an all around player.  When I started playing defense I used to play back on my heels.  With hard work and dedication, I now am able to play on my toes. I am always ready to step forward to the ball to make the best possible play.

I'm an intense player and it is something I am very proud of.  I love the game and I have fun playing, but I go out on the court with a winning mindset.  I take this same attitude with me to every practice.  I give 100% of myself to this game.  I remember playing volleyball in elementary school on the playground.  I was always practicing my skills.  I would work and work until I had mastered whatever goal I had set for myself.  When I wasn't working on my own skills, I was helping others better themselves.  Girls knew they could always count on me for help or simply just to practice with them.  This is something I still do.  My teammates see me as a leader.

My goal during my remaining time in high school is to continue to grow as a player and as a mentor.  I intend to work as hard as possible to improve my skills on the court.  I am looking forward to continuing my career on the collegiate level.
