My name is MacKenzie and I am a senior at Omaha South High School. I am very interested in playing volleyball at the college level, while also getting a good education. I would love to help the team in any capacity, rather that be in practice, or helping the team win a championship. I understand there are many roles on a team, and if everyone does their job, while working towards a common goal, the team will be successful.
When it comes to volleyball, I am a team first kind of player. I usually play all around the court, but when I do get taken out, I am cheering on my team and talking to the players that seem frustrated or down to try and get their mind refocused. I know how important the mental aspect of any competition is.
Outside of volleyball, I love to laugh and enjoy life. I am the oldest child in my family, which naturally made me care for others and that translates to my life. My mom and dad had me when they were sixteen and still in high school. There has been many challenges my parents have faced, but they have always ensured that I had a great life. They have taught me how to overcome adversity in any situation, and while my dad says I still need to do better at overcoming adversity, I feel like I am improving with every new situation.
