My name is Kya Fifita. I am a 16 year old Junior in the IB program at Valley High School in Las Vegas, NV. I live at home with my parents and 3 younger siblings. Family is very important to me. Being the oldest of my siblings and having a brother with special needs gives me a better understanding of how much of a role model I need to be to them. I have been in the IB program throughout my schooling and am hoping to graduate at the top of my class. I am currently ranked 2 out of 551 in my graduating class with a 4.824 GPA. I love practicing my Chinese, which I hope will come in handy when I take my IB exams. When I am not studying my life is volleyball. I have played club the last 4 years, although I tore my ACL the beginning of my freshman year I worked hard to come back stronger than ever. I have played right side hitter and have also successfully played middle hitter and outside. For these last two years of high school I made 2nd team all division and academic first teams. I am hoping to study linguistics or cultural anthropology in college.
