My interest in sports began as a young child and I was influenced by my mom and aunts, whom themselves played sports in middle school, high school, and part college. My mom taught me to always respect me, to be passionate to the chosen sport or a school subject, to be a good friend and team player, to learn the rules of a game, to demonstrate good sportsmanship and values, as these qualities will always assist me develop skills to be a leader.
Growing up I began to learn how to play Soccer, but realized that my interested was in softball, as some of my friends shared how exciting it was to run bases. Since then I have played a variety of sports most of which was softball, then basketball, track & field, cross country, and since late 2020 during my Sophomore year, I became interested in learning about Volleyball, by watching and talking with my friends about the game. As a determined athlete that my mom taught me to be, I learned the rules of the game by watching videos, practicing techniques in my backyard that I felt it prepared me to be confident for JV tryouts.
This year has been very rewarding for me having played in the JV team for 2 months early 2021, then trying out and making the Varsity team starting my Junior year. I am proud to represent the Ridge High School Varsity team having won the 2021 NJ Somerset County Volleyball Championship and after, the NJ State Sectional-Group IV Volleyball Championship, and I was designated and awarded my HS “Athlete of the Month of October.” My past Softball, Basketball, Track and Field experience and these two recent Volleyball seasons helped me grow as a committed student and athlete. I have learned the value of determination, dependability and dedication having also maintained a 4.0 GPA as well as the concept of leadership, determination, compassion, teamwork, and strength in all aspects of my life.
I am searching for a program that will compliment and represent me academically, athletically, and authentically. I have the talent, the work ethics, and strive to make an impact on your program. As an experienced and committed athlete, I can be a positive influence on your team!
