My name is Stephanie Buttons and I have been playing volleyball for 4 years. The first time I have ever played volleyball was 8th grade and from that moment, I fell in love with the sport. Before that, I had been playing tennis for years and knew that I was going to play in high school. That fall season of my freshman year I started at 1st singles and ended with a 9-6 record. Due to the year being effected by the pandemic, the volleyball season was moved to the spring and I decided to give it a shot. After I finished out the season on JV, it was only a few months until the season started back up again the next school year. I ended up making varsity my sophomore year and won the shore conference in 2021. Last season I became a starter and became a key player on both my club and high school teams. I am a three time letter winners and three time division champion. This season, I was named captain of my high school team for which I am extremely grateful for. I get the opportunity to strengthen my leadership skills and be someone to look up to for my teammates. I believe I have come a very long way, with even more room for improvement. I plan to find a college that will challenge me academically and athletically.
