Making the decision to focus on volleyball during my freshman year was a difficult decision but also very rewarding. I have played competitive sports, it seems my entire life. I grew up on a farm and played with horses, chickens and attended 4h, but my social life was mostly centered around athletics. My Dad played basketball at Loyola (D1), my sister is currently plays lacrosse at Bucknell (D1) and my Mom played volleyball in California. When younger I played lacrosse, basketball, soccer and loved them all. Moorestown, my home town, is well known for girls lacrosse, so there was a lot of pressure to continue playing club lacrosse (girls committing sophomore year) in the spring/summer. I believe my experience with multiple sports has made my volleyball skills more competitive and versatile.
I just added track to my schedule this spring, and am currently running the 400 at 66 seconds. I love training and how fit I am, and am looking for a college program that will push my skill level higher. I not only have the talent to compete and play on a college team but the work ethic and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on any program.
