Clare Farrell '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Clare Farrell and I am looking to play volleyball at the next level in college, to  keep improving my skills, and to continue to learn about the sport I have grown to love. I have always been athletic, especially growing up with three older brothers, however soccer was my sport. Eighth grade was a game changer because I was introduced to volleyball and I can say I have never looked back. Once I was able to play more competitively in high school, I knew that my soccer days were over. Outside hitter was a natural position for me because I am a versatile athlete and was accustomed to scoring points from soccer. I began playing club VB after my sophomore year of high school and that has really helped me become a more well rounded player, especially with improvements in serve/receive and passing. In both club and high school I play six rotations. I find the most rewarding part of the game is when a team is in sync, where the team shares the same level of intensity and focus. 

I am undecided on what I want to study in college, but I am leaning toward business. I am looking for an academically challenging school where I can build relationships with my professors, coaches, teammates and fellow students. My coaches tell me I am shy until you  get to know me, but I am very determined on the court with a strong desire to win. What I love about my high school volleyball team is watching our team improve. What I love about club volleyball is the enthusiasm and connections among my team mates. I look forward to contributing to a team effort and growing as a person and volleyball player while in college.
