Iona Nelson '23 Recruiting Profile

As an athlete and as as a person, I am determined and dedicated to those people and things that I love and that includes volleyball.  While I have long been athletic and have tried everything from rodeo to softball, volleyball is the sport for me. The fast pace of play, the fresh start after each point, coming together for celebration or crisis, and the relationships I've built have solidified volleyball as my best fit.  I think everyone should have the opportunity to experience what I have—in whatever sport they choose—the energy, the teamwork, the coming together of a group of individuals pulling together to work together.  I have worked very hard to ensure that I am at my physical best for my coach and team and am willing to do the extra training, practices, and conditioning so that I can confidently know I am an asset to my teammates and am able to leave it all on the court in every game.  I hope to have volleyball in my life for its entirety and that begins with continuing play in college.
