I have been playing volleyball for 8 years, from the first day, I fell in love with the sport. I want to continue playing volleyball for as long as I can and I would love to see where it takes me. At 9 years old I played on an 11u club team, and was placed in the setting position. Ever since then I have embraced the position and have really worked hard at it. I have always been playing up in age 1 to 2 years, until this coming club year where I will be playing my own age, I find this to be a challenge, because I have to train and work harder so that way my level of play is better on the court. I normally play all around so I have to have all the skills to do so, and this makes me a leader on and off the court. I have committed to practicing at least 4 times a week, 3 days of strength/ conditioning training, and put school first. If I do not understand a subject or topic, I do not turn down the opportunity to ask questions to clarify or use my own resources to learn my own way. My standards are to give 110% at practice, tournaments, and academics, and I expect the same from my teammates/peers.
I play for Texas Performance Volleyball Club on the 17 Black team as a 17 year old and on varsity for La Cueva High School since freshman year. In the time that I have played volleyball, I have received numerous medals and awards. The most important ones that have stood out to me are the Girls Junior National Champioship of 2019. Where my team and myself played in the National Division, during those 4 days, we went 11-0 and won the National Division Title in 2 sets and the UNC team camp where we went 12-0 and won against the #1 ranked high school team in Colorado, I have made so many memories with some great people and I am so thankful that volleyball has led to some of my longest lasting friendships.
I am an 11th grader at La Cueva High School. I have made the honor roll every year since 6th grade, and continue to do so to this day, currently my GPA is a 3.9. I am planning on taking 4 AP classes going into my junior year and I think it will be a good challenge. My goal is to maintain a high GPA throughout the rest of my years in high school because my education is important to me and I know that it will get me far in life. I love learning new skills and I enjoy school because my teachers know how to push me to my limits and I thrive off of a challenge! I’m a very competitive person which makes me better in its own way. On my limited down time, I enjoy painting, drawing, and spending time with loved ones and friends but still find my way back to the gym/court even on a rest day.
