The amazing game of volleyball has taught me many valuable lessons that have helped me succeed in many aspects of my life. I have always valued the idea of working hard in order to accomplish my goals as an individual and for the team. I am willing to do anything that is necessary for myself and the team to succeed. There is no better feeling then seeing your hard work pay off.
This hard work is not only demonstrated on the court but also in the classroom. Being involved athletically as well as academically has showed me how to time manage and to be able to balance school and athletics. I have been on the honor roll the last 4 years while playing sports. I have a 96% average. I also have challenged myself in the classroom by taking many advanced classes including college courses.
I have also played helped my travel team go to nationals three years in a row. Last year we won the the JVA Rock and Rumble along with two other tournaments. As my position as the middle, I think it’s important to always be available as a hitting option. Even if you might not get the ball it’s your job to help the team by engaging the other side of the court. I believe that it is important to have a positive attitude because it elevates your team rather than bringing people down with a negative attitude. I also think that playing with high intensity is important because it makes your team play at a high level rather than playing down to your competition. Overall I think that I would provide a positive, high intensity, and hard working middle position for a great program!
