I love playing volleyball and have always wanted to continue playing at the next level. I couldn't imagine my senior year in high school being the last year I play competitive volleyball. I started playing volleyball five years ago in 5th grade and fell in love with the game. I was active in other sports including softball and track but soon realized my passion for sports is in volleyball. I broke my leg sliding into home plate during travel softball the summer before my 8th-grade year and was unable to play volleyball. Not being able to play that year really ignited a fire in me to get back to 100% and strive to be the best I could be. The year that I broke my leg was the year that I started going to the gym and found that I really enjoyed the training, not just for rehab but so I could come back and be the best I could be for my freshman year of volleyball. Having that setback made me realize where my true passion was. I started to dedicate myself 100% to volleyball to ensure I am always an asset to my teammates. I started taking private lessons at Black Swamp so that I could improve my overall game and be an asset to my team in any situation, I continue to strive to be the best overall player I can be. I believe to be a team player you have to hold yourself accountable and always strive to improve yourself by practicing and learning each of your own as well as all of your fellow teammates' strengths and weaknesses. A team should be a family. I never limit myself to owning only one position. I am a well-rounded player on the court and I am working to be able to slide into any position comfortably. My strongest positions are Outside Hitter and Setting and I am currently working on being the best I can be at defense to become a complete, well-rounded player. My goal during the club season is to master hitting, blocking, setting, and defense while continuing to improve my strength, speed, and agility on the court.
My day is dedicated to school, gym (5) days a week, and practice for Club Volleyball (2) days a week and a private lesson (1) day a week. I believe that academics are the number one priority and am planning to graduate college with a business major. To reach my goals, I have to maintain my current cumulative GPA of 4.2 and principles list status throughout high school.
