My name is Elizabeth Keller and I play volleyball for Fremont Ross High School. I started playing volleyball in 4th grade and worked everyday to get better at it. My goal was to play outside but my height was a big barrier for me to overcome, but by the time I got to high school I was a starting outside hitter that never left the court.
My freshman year I received an award for Offensive Player of the Year. My sophomore and junior year I was captain for the JV team and received the Captain Award (sophomore) and the Coaches Award (junior). I have played as an all around outside hitter throughout my entire high school career so far, however I am expecting to play as a DS my senior year because that is what I am most confident with.
I have played club volleyball for the past 4 years through North Coast Showtime Volleyball Club. My first 3 years I played as an all around outside and this year I transitioned to a full time DS. I would like to continue my volleyball career in college and I understand that my height makes me best suited for the back row so I have been more focused on improving my passing when I am in the gym.
My academic success is also extremely important to me. I take my grades very seriously and I always strive for quality work. I have been taking college classes since the summer after my 8th grade year and I am currently taking classes so that I can graduate with honors. I plan on majoring in Physical Therapy; and although I am open to offers, I am hoping to stay close to home.
