As a little girl growing up in a very competitive and sports oriented family, I learned early that I had a desire to play sports and compete at a high level. My first love was basketball which I started playing at age five. However, at age eight I decided to add volleyball to my list. By age ten I knew that volleyball was my one true passion and I left all other sports behind! I made the top team for my first two years at Mintonette Sports however, due to my size, I was moved down to the second team to start my third year at club. I was underweight and lacked strength. Looking back, this was the best thing that could have happened to me. When I moved down I improved my skills to become a six-rotation player, learned how to be a strong leader, and to believe in myself. It fueled me and it made me fight harder for my goals! I grew in every way and got stronger. Two years later, I earned a spot on the top team again, as a six rotation player, and am even more driven to become a solid college volleyball player.
I am fortunate enough to also play for an amazing and intensive program at Olentangy Orange High School, where we have been D1 District Champions for the last six consecutive years. At Orange I have been able to successfully add RS and Setter to my skill set. I’m looking for a college program that is willing to push me both academically and athletically, as I believe I have the work ethic, discipline and drive to make an instant impact on any program.
