Hello! My name is Ava Abramczyk (A-bram-check) :) I am 14 years old and in my Freshman year at Medina Christian Academy in Medina, Ohio. I have been playing volleyball since the 8th grade. Prior to falling in love with volleyball, I was a gymnast from the age of 4. After my first year playing volleyball for my school, I was simply hooked! Since then I have worked incredibly hard to increase my skills and abilities by attending sport specific strength, speed and agility training, attended skills camps and also invested in personal training from college volleyball coaches over the summer months and in preparation for high school tryouts. I played on both the JV and Varsity teams for my high school this past school season. I also played JO club volleyball during the 2022/2023 season and am currently playing JO Club in the 2023/2024 season. I began as a Defensive Specialist but have also been an outside hitter this season. I was recently asked to play as a setter and also provide support as a DS within the rotation. I value learning all the positions in order to be as supportive of a player to my team as possible. I absolutely love the outside hitter position, but am very open to playing setter and I excel in the DS position as well.
My ultimate goal is to continue playing volleyball through high school and into college! I will continue to enroll in as many skills and strength training classes, camps, etc to work on getting stronger and more proficient.
I am a straight A student and work hard on my academics. School is number one and sports come second. I value my education above all and I fully understand the importance of both being the best student and also the best athlete I can be.
I am not 100% sure yet what I would like to study in college but I have a great love and interest in science. I am exploring the different fields of study with my career counselor at the present time.
My family and my friends are my life! I believe in being the best daughter, sister and friend I can be. My friends would say I am funny and fun to be around. I am extremely supportive, generous and kind to everyone in my life. Being positive and constantly challenging myself both academically and athletically is very important to me. I will always strive to be my very best in everything I do!
I am so excited to have this opportunity with NCSA and I can not wait to see what the future holds!
