Josephine Skinn '22 Recruiting Profile

I began playing volleyball when I was 9 years old and feels like I’ve had a volleyball in my hand since then.  I was always out in the driveway hitting the ball on our garage roof so I could work on a perfect platform.  I love that the game of volleyball allows me to keep getting better at every skill, once you reach a certain point, you can still keep growing. Working on footwork, reading hitters, different serves and adding more speed are all things that I work on in practice.  Traveling several hours a week to practice and compete at AVC with some of the best volleyball players in Ohio has allowed me to do this. Our practices at the club push me to compete/play at a higher level, working year round to better myself as a player and teammate. I love going after every ball and being a leader on the court. I crave great competition and have a huge desire to win.  I know playing volleyball in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that would be a part of me the rest of my life.
