My name is Mackenzie Krous, I play volleyball for Big Walnut High School and Buckeye Volleyball Club. I started playing volleyball in 3rd grade. After my first game, I fell in love and continue to fall in love with the sport. I transitioned from school ball to club ball when I moved from Cleveland to Columbus Ohio in 4th grade.
My freshman year I was a captain on the junior varsity team at Big Walnut High School. I played defensive specialist on varsity my sophomore and junior year. I received honorable mention both years. I have been playing at Buckeye Volleyball Club for the past 7 years. I play all-around, as an outside hitter on that team.
Not only is volleyball my passion but I am very passionate about my academics. I try just as hard in the classroom as I do on the court. I take classes that will benefit me in the long run. I plan on becoming a physical therapist or physician assistant. Through the past years, I have learned how to balance the life of a student-athlete.
Every day when I walk into the gym or weight room I strive to get better. I put in 110% effort in season and off season. I strive to make my teammates around me better as well, I push them to their maximum potential along with myself. I don't look back on prior mistakes, I move on and make the next play better.
My love for volleyball isn’t hidden. It's clear that I do everything I can to get better, whether that's playing in tournaments all weekend or doing approaches around my house. I believe that I not only have the talent for your program, but the work ethic, determination, and leadership to make an impact.
