My name is Aaralyne Estep and I am in the class of 2022. My goal to play as a Libero or DS in college for an athletically and academically competitive program. I am 5'4" tall with a standing reach of 8'1", a standing block of 8'1", an approach of 9'11", a running block of 9'4" and a pro shuttle of 5.38. My strongest quality is consistent passing to target. I have played both left back and middle back and this year had the opportunity to be an Outside Hitter which gives me position flexibility. I am consistent at passing and quick reaction to plays. I have very strong serving ability and great leadership skills, I value spending time in the gym and love getting feedback on how I can improve and what I am strong at. I currently hold 3 school records - Career Passing, Most Serve Receive & Career Defense.
I have been voted Washington High Schools MVP Blue Lion 2021, Varsity Defense Player of the year 2017-2019, All FAC 2020 & 2021, All District 2nd Team 2021, All District HM 2020 and started playing at the varsity level as a freshman. I have been blessed to play at the American level for London Elite Volleyball Club for several years as the libero and this year will be my second season with Spiketown VBC.
I am a the Co-Historian of Washington High School and have been privileged to serve on Washington High School Superintendents Board. I also love being involved in DECA and have placed 2nd in Districts for Hospitality Management 2019 and 1st in Districts for Marketing and Management 2020. Unfortunately due to the spread of corona virus the 2019 State competition was canceled. I have also been honored in the National Academy of Scholars 3 years in a row.
I am an all around athlete and have competed athletically in travel softball, varsity & aau basketball, and varsity track and field.
A year ago I had a moment that changed my life. My doctor noticed that I had high blood pressure and was concerned because I am a young and active teenager. Through lot's of testing I was found to have recessive poly-cystic kidney disease. This news made me evaluate a lot of things in my life . Through this I know that I can persevere through anything and everything that may come my way. I am thankful that I have a very slight case and keeping active helps me stay healthy and allows me to continue playing the sport I love.
I have proven to myself and others that I can win in the face of adversity. I am very committed to whatever I am involved in and proud of what I have been able to be a part of thus far. I always stay positive, love to lead and love to help others when needed.
