My volleyball career started at the young age of 11 years old. I played for two seasons at the Broken Arrow Volleyball Club. Then for the next few years, the opportunity for volleyball was not available. I started playing again during my freshman year of high school at Claremore Christian School. I have been a starter on the varsity team every year since. I know that my desire, passion, and strong competitiveness to play this sport is high and I would love nothing more than to carry it out as far as I can throughout my college experience.
In my years of playing, I have been told by several coaches that my hustle is outstanding and that I never give up on a play. I played as a libero for half of my freshman year and all of my sophomore and junior years. One of my favorite things about the game of volleyball as a libero is throwing my body across the court diving and saving the ball. I have many experiences of running into tables, benches, walls, and even into audiences to save any ball. I love the rush and fast pace of the sport. I am a leader and encourager on my team and am open to constructive criticism. I am a coachable player and always willing to help another teammate with proper stance and to advise them on what they could do to fix their passes. I am willing to do whatever it takes to go to the next level. I will always work my hardest and out-hustle every time.
During my offseason, I am staying in shape by playing other sports such as basketball and running track. During the summer I am in the gym and preparing for the next season. At my school, there is a banquet at the end of each school year with academic and athletic awards. Last year I received the hustle award for volleyball, a speech class award, and also a biology award. I was also blessed with the All-State volleyball award sophomore and junior years. As for my academics, I average high A's and a rare high B. Especially in my junior year, I realize it is time to get serious and I stepped up my schoolwork. I also am a part of my school's student council. My role in the student council is the secretary where I write things down in meetings and I bring ideas to the table to better our school. I also volunteer at my church, Destiny Life Church, in the media team running camera and volunteer for my school as football mamager.
In college, wherever God puts me, I plan to major in biology and then go into pre-medicine so I can become a general surgeon. I would love to carry out my volleyball career in college and play wherever I can. I would like to push myself to great levels of play and I know my determination, hard work, and competitiveness can bring me there. I desire to be the best I can be and bring honor to my family and God.
