Hey there! My name is Marley Hayes, and I am a junior this year, graduating in 2026. Fun fact: I have attended every home volleyball game at our high school since I was born - starting out in my baby carrier as a newborn (even though I slept through the first few matches.). I have been playing the sport of volleyball since 5th grade. I currently play high school volleyball at Joseph Charter School, in Joseph, OR. I am also involved in club volleyball, playing for Storm Volleyball Club based out of Hermiston, OR. This is my first year at this club after switching, and I am currently competing for the 18U Black team. For both high-school and club, I am a 6 rotation setter/hitter. For my high school season I would set back row in a 6-2 offense, and then would hit as a middle blocker (but also outside and opposite as needed.) The same goes for club volleyball: I was versatile in all hitting and blocking positions even though I am primarily a setter. I also have experience running a 5-1 offense. I led multiple games in blocks, aces, and assists as a Sophomore for our high school season this year, and we ended up placing 5th at the OSAA state 1A championships. This year as a Junior I got 2nd team all tournament. I also led in aces and assists over the season and was second in both blocks and kills. I strive to be a positive leader on the court, and was chosen as a team captain for my club team for all 4 years I have been involved in club volleyball. I love helping to grow my passion for the sport, and have volunteered several years to help with the younger girls in elementary and junior high. I also have officiated our home junior high volleyball games. I figure this helps them, helps the program, and gives me more knowledge of the game. I am a self-motivated person on and off of the court, and I currently have a 4.0 GPA. I also love spending free time riding my horse Yo-yo, a Sorrel gelding. I plan to major in sports medicine/kinesiology after high school, and look forward to attending a college that will help me reach my goals of becoming an athletic trainer or sports medicine specialist. I have always had an immense passion for volleyball, and this started the first time I touched a volleyball. I am constantly going to the gym by myself to work on footwork and basic skills; I also do plyometrics and strength training to build my strength and improve my jump reach in the off season. I work to attend at least a couple of volleyball camps a year. Volleyball has always been an escape for me, and has always made me feel right at home. The volleyball court IS my happy place. I am hoping to continue my passion and love for the sport moving on to the collegiate level. Thank you for your time!
