Sydney Ohl '21 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to play for a highly competitive collegiate volleyball program where I can be a valuable contributor early in my college experience.  I am an athlete who is dedicated to a team first approach, competitive spirit, and maintaining a positive influence on my teammates.  My coaches have described me as a "relentless competitor with an extremely high volleyball IQ who has  an intense work ethic and extraordinary desire to continually improve her skills".  I have been team captain for the past four seasons and try to always lead by example both on and off the court.  I have been playing club volleyball at the “national” level for 7 years as a libero, but can play in any position which a coach asks.  This season my coach has me playing OPP as she feels it makes our team much stronger offensively and better showcases my overall volleyball skill and athleticism.  For my school team I have played the last three years as an outside hitter.  This past season I was fortunate to earn the honor of being voted AAAA First Team All-State, AAAA First Team All-District 3, and First Team All-League.  I am also open to playing Beach Volleyball at the collegiate level if the opportunity is available.  I have played in numerous doubles tournaments (beach and grass) the past few years and we have almost always placed in the top two.  I am a responsible, respectful, and extremely hard working student athlete determined to maintain and achieve the highest of academic expectations.   I have a 3.92/4.0 GPA and am ranked 14 / 452 in my class.   I am looking to attend a challenging academic institution with a highly competitive volleyball program where I can continue my personal and educational growth as I work toward fulfilling future career goals.
