Hi, I am Keira Dunn! I am a 5'6" D.S./Libero from the graduating class of 2024 at PIAA Bishop Shanahan High School, which has one of the best Pennsylvania high school programs. In my Sophomore year, we were undisputed ChesMont champions, District 1 champions, and made it all the way to the State Semifinals before falling short in a tough battle against Parkland. I play club volleyball for the amazing Synergy Volleyball Club in King of Prussia, PA. I am currently Libero/DS for the Synergy 17 Neon National team. In previous years, I played club volleyball at the Elite level at Sparks VBC.
I started playing volleyball in 5th grade and I instantly fell in love with it. Ever since then, my dream was and is to be able to play this amazing sport for as long as I can and play, for an incredible team, that I would be able to call my second family. Whether it's D1, D2, or D3 I will be happy and thankful to be a part of that team. I am an extremely hard worker who gives everything I have at every practice, workout, or game. I have a wide range of knowledge for the game as well. Before every game, I watch the opposing team's film and share my insights with my teammates to prepare for the upcoming matchup. Something I believe sets me apart from other players is that I love receiving tips on how to improve my game. I'm never afraid to hear constructive criticism, I love trying to improve my skills, and I appreciate getting that feedback. When I'm on the court, I like to keep a positive and supportive energy. One of my favorite things to do whether I'm on the court or on the bench is to celebrate a good point. I love spreading positivity to my teammates so that we can become a better and stronger team. However, I also love having the time in the huddle after not receiving a point. It allows me to reset and get ready for the next ball, and to help the others do so, as well.
When it comes to off-the-court and in school, I am looking for a school that help me discover my career passion and prepare for it. I am currently an honors student at Bishop Shanahan. I use the hard volleyball work ethic in the classroom, as well. My work is always on-time (or early) and it's important for me to always keep my grades up, which often requires strong planning because of my hectic volleyball schedule.
Overall I'm looking for an amazing program that can offer me a good education while also having a volleyball program where I can learn and improve even further.
