Hello and thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Catherine Detweiler and I am currently a Junior at Bishop Shanahan High School. I first began playing volleyball in 5th grade and fell in love with the sport shortly after. Over the past few years, volleyball has taught me so much both as an athlete and as a person. My coaches have taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and consistency, while my teammates have taught me the importance of teamwork, cooperation, as well as supporting each other both on and off the court.
I have enjoyed this past school season, as one of the starting middles on the team I have enjoyed the competition and being a part of the team as we made it through the first round of Districts. Growing as a team was so much fun, and I am looking forward to the next club season ahead of me at Synergy VBC to work on improving even more.
I also place a lot of value in my academics, this year I am taking three AP courses as well as a Criminal Justice and a Psychology class through our Dual Enrollment program. I have had a great time learning new things and have really enjoyed the challenge of the newer and harder material, and look forward to the next months of learning.
Overall, I look forward to the recruiting process for a collegiate team, looking to earn a degree in biology or neuroscience while contributing to a team throughout my college years. Thank you again for visiting my page, and I would be happy to answer any questions that come up!
