2020 SpotlightPersonal Statement
Everyone has that special something that makes them feel alive. For me, it has always been playing sports. And I've played just about all of them. Not until Volleyball though, did I feel truly connection to a sport--one that I want to play every day.
Even now during Covid, I am thankful I actually got to have a high school season. Playing volleyball was truly a lifesaver during this really hard time, and I am grateful to my teammates, my school and definitely my coaches.
The rush of adrenaline I get every time the ball is near me is why I simply love this game. I pride myself on being ready for anything, staying laser focused on the game, and on reading my opponent. And with the help of my coach, Jenna Potts (D1 player University of Pitt), my blocking and hitting improved. (Hitting average 0.329). My swings were more explosive and I began to strategically placing the balls on the court where I wanted.
I think I’m good candidate for a college team because I’m a dedicated student and I play with my whole heart. I’m constantly trying to improve my game and strive to do my best always. I am willing to invest the time and energy necessary to become a better volleyball player. I truly love this game and absolutely want to play at the next level.
