College volleyball could help me reach goals such as finding my best possible physical capability and helping with my future. Playing volleyball at a collegiate level is not only a huge goal of mine, but it will also greatly help with my future career. I want my future career to be sports psychology. Playing at all the levels of volleyball is extremely important for helping others in the sport psychology field. Playing at all the levels would greatly help my career because I would be more versatile with the athletes I can work with, after knowing more of what they are going through. I want to become a sports psychologist because I have always had a great love for sports while having a love for psychology and what takes place behind the scenes. Furthermore, for as long as I can remember I have always wanted to be the best I could possibly be. Playing at the collegiate level would help me with my future in ways nothing else could not.
My whole life I have had high morale, focus, and drive. From the age of six, when I started cheerleading, through the age of eleven, when I did competitive dance, and now at the age of fourteen starting the recruiting process for the sport I fell in love with two years ago. With every sport and activity, I’ve played or done, I always made it a point to be at every practice, meeting, and competition even if I was sick or injured. While sports are important to me, academics have also been my top priority. Whenever there was a chance to do better I always took it. When it comes to determination, versatility, coachability, being a team player, and compassion I feel that I excel. Every year I make it a point to improve in many areas such as personal growth, mental growth, academic growth, and athletic/physical growth. I believe that I have the skillset, motivation, and compassion to be a great addition to any team.
When I was nine years old I fell in love with a quote I found when my class and I had free computer time, and ever since I have never forgotten it. The quote said “ shoot for the moon and even if you miss, you will land among the stars,” now I do not remember who wrote that. However, I do know that has got me through ever wanting to quit at anything and I hope it keeps doing that. I create huge goals for myself and work my hardest to turn them into plans. Sometimes those plans fail too but I will always know I tried. At the same time, however, sometimes those huge dreams turn into a plan and then turn into my new reality. My current goals for my education are to go to graduate high school with straight A’s and honors, go to a college that can give me a great education in psychology while having a strong overall athletic program, and to play collegiate volleyball on a scholarship. Therefore I am turning these goals into a plan by doing my best in school every day, starting looking at colleges starting my 8th-grade year, and improving my volleyball skills every day.
