Growing up, I would have told you softball was my favorite sport. That changed the fall going into my third grade year, when one of my closest friends at the time suggested I try volleyball with her. We played for our local CYO team together until 8th grade. My club journey also began that way; with a friend suggesting that I play with her in 7th grade. And ever since then I’ve been playing club and traveling this great country with some of my best friends.
Through this sport, I’ve learned that I’m always wanting to improve my game, as well as my teams game. I love seeing the work we put in together at practice translate to the court when we are competing at a tournament. Some of the highlights of my volleyball career include playing at the AAU National Tournament in Florida two years ago, and most recently in this year’s high school season, making it to District Finals for the first time in school history.
Something I feel that motivates me as a player is my desire to make a skill as perfect as it can be. When working on a new drill or individual skill at practices, I won’t stop until I repeatedly get it right. I like to leave practice knowing that I performed that skill to the best of my ability, and come back in to the next practice and performing it with no difficulty. I take pride in my teammates and our accomplishments together, and can not wait for what the future hold in my volleyball career.
