To play collegiate volleyball has always been my goal and dream. I am also committed to academics and currently maintain a 3.73 GPA at Academia Maria Reina in San Juan, Puerto Rico. My objective is to represent my University with proud and graduate with honors. I do not miss any practices and always fulfill my academic load. Therefore, I have a very well balance between my academic and sports responsibilities. I am very perseverant and consistent in my goals. I am fluent in English and Spanish and can communicate effectively in French.
In my team, I am a leader and take seriously my role as captain. I always motivate my teammates no matter what the score is. I never give up during a match. My passion and love for the court bring out the best in me. I believe there is always room for improvement; consequently, I am always looking for ways to improve my performance. I always practice with the same intensity as if I were in an actual game. I firmly believe that following the advice and instructions from my coaches is most important, even if I have a different opinion.
Volleyball has been part of my life since the age of 5 and started traveling at the age of 10. In 2012 my team achieved 1st Place in the Open Division, Gold Bracket in the AAU Girls’ Junior National Championship. In 2016 and 1st Place, Gold Bracket in the 2017 Asics Junior National Volleyball Championship. The result of the Tournaments in 2017 was as follows: West Coast Power League, 3rd Place - Gold Bracket - Open; Spring Volleybal Challenge - Silver Bracket- Champion Open; AAU Super Regional 2017 Power League Girls Championship - 2nd Place Silver Bracket - Open; Jeep Volleyball Championship 2017 - 1st Place Silver Bracket - Open. The result of the Tournaments in 2019 was as follows: West Coast Power League, Runner up - Gold Bracket - Open; Spring Volleybal Challenge - Silver Bracket- Champion Open; AAU Super Regional 2019 Power League Girls Championship - 2nd Place Silver Bracket - Open; Jeep Volleyball Championship 2019 - 1st Place Silver Bracket - Open.
My school team has won multiple championships. In 2014 and 2016, my school team won the PR High School Athletic Alliance Championship. This season I was a starter in every single game of my club team. I won the MVP award in volleyball at my high school’s Sports Awards in 2016 and 2019.
Besides indoor volleyball, I have been playing beach volleyball for six years. This year my partner and I were able to participate in the Beach Volleyball Xplora Fest and reached 3rd place among players from around the Island. I believe that beach volleyball offers a wider range of skills which I can also take to my indoor games.
I have very supportive parents and I think that is one of the secrets to my success in the court.
